Chiropractic Massage

Chiropractic massage is not a spa treatment. It is targeted soft tissue work on the muscles that are pulling a joint out of position or guarding around an injury, and it is directed by what the examination found.

Muscle and joint problems feed each other. A restricted joint makes the muscles around it tighten. Tight muscles pull the joint back towards where it was. Treating one without the other is why some people feel better for two days and then go back to square one.

Why Adjustments Hold
Longer With Soft Tissue Work

The muscles decide whether the correction stays

When a joint has been restricted for months, the muscles around it have adapted. They have shortened, tightened, and learned a pattern. An adjustment can restore the movement, but those muscles will quietly pull it back if nothing addresses them.

Soft tissue work releases that tension, breaks down the adhesions that have built up, and improves circulation to tissue that has been short of it. Done alongside adjustments, it is what turns a temporary improvement into a lasting one.

The work is directed, not general. We treat the areas the examination identified, at the pressure that area needs. Some of it is comfortable. Some of it is firm. You will know what we are doing and why before we start, and you can tell us to ease off at any point.

Treating the joint and the muscle together is what stops you back here in a month.

Why Patients Choose Us for Chiropractic Massage

Directed by Your Examination

We treat the areas the assessment identified, not a standard routine applied to everyone.

Works With Your Adjustments

Timed and targeted to support the chiropractic treatment rather than run alongside it unrelated.

Thirty Years of Experience

Dr. Blossey has practiced since 1996 and oversees every treatment plan personally.

Good for Accident Injuries

Soft tissue damage from a collision responds well to focused massage once the acute phase has settled.

You Set the Pressure

Firm where it needs to be, eased off when you say so. Nothing happens without you knowing what and why.

Part of a Plan With an End

A treatment course with a goal and a review point, not an open ended standing appointment.

What We Use It For

The problems soft tissue work is most often added to

  • Neck and shoulder tension that returns within days of every adjustment
  • Lower back tightness and muscle spasm
  • Soft tissue injury after a car accident, once the acute phase has passed
  • Repetitive strain from desk work, driving, or production line work
  • Muscle tightness that is limiting how far a joint will move

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from a regular massage?

A spa massage is for relaxation and covers the whole body. This is clinical soft tissue work directed at specific areas your examination identified, usually as part of a treatment plan that also includes adjustments.

Will it hurt?

Some of it is comfortable and some of it is firm, depending on the area and what it needs. You will know what we are doing before we start, and you can tell us to ease off at any point.

Do I need massage as well as adjustments?

Not always. If the muscles around a restricted joint keep pulling it back after adjustments, soft tissue work is usually what makes the correction hold. Your examination tells us whether it belongs in your plan.

How long is a session?

It depends on how many areas need treatment. We will tell you the length and number of sessions when we plan your care after the examination.
