Car Accident

A car accident does damage that an emergency room visit is not designed to find. The ER rules out fractures and anything life threatening, then sends you home. It does not assess the soft tissue, joint, and nerve injuries that cause most of the pain people still have weeks later.

That assessment is what happens here. Dr. Blossey examines what the crash actually did, explains it in plain language, and builds a treatment plan around it. Every visit is documented as you go, which matters if your injuries become part of an insurance claim.

Cleared at the Hospital
and Still in Pain?

The injuries that show up three days later
are the ones nobody looked for

This is the most common call we get. The hospital took a scan, found nothing broken, and told you to rest. By the third morning the neck will not turn, the headaches have started, and sleep has become difficult.

Nothing went wrong at the hospital. They were looking for different things. Whiplash, disc irritation, joint restriction, and nerve compression do not appear on the scans an emergency room runs, and they do not resolve on their own just because nothing is broken.

Low speed matters less than people expect. Parking lot and intersection collisions produce whiplash regularly, and a vehicle with almost no visible damage can still leave you injured. A bumper that absorbs very little transfers more of that force to the people inside.

If it still hurts a week after the crash, it is not going to sort itself out. Get it looked at.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon after a car accident should I come in?

As soon as you can, ideally within the first few days. Injuries are easier to assess while they are fresh, treatment works better early, and an examination close to the accident date leaves no unexplained gap in your records.

It was a minor accident. Do I really need to be seen?

If you are in pain, yes. Low speed collisions produce whiplash regularly, and a vehicle with little visible damage can still leave you injured. Most of these injuries take two or three days to show themselves.

Who pays for treatment after a California car accident?

It depends on your policy and on who was at fault. Treatment may be covered by your own auto insurance, your health insurance, or the at-fault driver’s insurer. Call us and we will help you work out which applies before treatment starts.

How long do I have to bring a claim in California?

Deadlines vary with the type of claim and who is involved, so check with an attorney about your situation. Whatever the deadline, being examined early and keeping records from the first visit makes any claim easier to support.
